Project Information

You’re inheriting a home but the current owners are going to leave it in shambles. You’ve got some legitimate concerns about your future but no one takes you seriously because you’re just a child.

How do we educate, engage and empower children when it comes to climate change? How do we remain focused on one of the most important issues when the rest of the world is focused on the coronavirus? How do we keep children engaged while working remotely? These questions were some of the key problems that we needed to face with the client.

Children’s Parliament came to us in the beginning of 2020 with the aim of educating children about climate change and helping them lead their own campaign and find their voice on the national and international stage. 8 Million Stories and Children’s Parliament worked together to create activities and materials for over 100 children taking part in the Climate Change Makers program.

This included rolling out a brand, activity boxes, videos, reports, online surveys and a microsite. The children responded with excitement to the host of activities we created together, they loved seeing their illustrations come to life and being used as part of the brand.

The materials online and inside the activity boxes helped children form and communicate their ideas. The project gained national and international attention from the Royal Family, BBC, Scotsman, Herald Scotland, Sky and New York Times. The Climate Change Maker’s project also won silver for the Environment Award at the 2022 BIMA Awards.
